I spent quite a while thinking about the art I was going to make before actually working on it. My plan was to take the book apart and create one collage per page, which is 35 different collages plus the cover – inside and out. I created different works of art using all the media I know – several types of collages, pen and ink, photography, pastel, watercolor and acrylics. I sometimes combined my photography and my drawings or paintings into my collages. I did the same on these pages. I gathered my materials and cut and pasted away for about 25 hours. Once finished, I sealed all the pages with gel matte medium and hung them to dry for two days. I then bound all the pages together, by sewing the pages together. That took about three hours! I love the way my book turned out! I hope the viewer will enjoy my art and learn something about me. Perhaps my book might inspire them to create something themselves. I am thrilled to be a part of this project. I hope that I received feedback about my book in 2012.
