I saw my sketchbook as a single object. I made marks on one page, allowing the lead to mark the inside cover & following page, then removed that page discarded it. By drilling & weaving through &around it my marks remain hidden; the threads became my drawing. The loose ends refer to unfinished work and the entangled weave of the threads to the complex relationship we have with sketchbooks.
