Paint Woodsboro Call for participants
art event in conjunction with "Woodsboro Days" Saturday, October 17, 2015
(and possibly Sunday the 18th).
Artists are invited to paint (draw, whatever) Woodsboro subjects at any time leading up to that weekend. Working visibly in town that day would be great as well, but I'm a studio painter and don't love the stress of plein air on a particular day. We can paint all summer, and gather the paintings to show at Woodsboro Days.If response is good, we will have space in the American Legion hall to show the work, with a meet-the-artists time in the late afternoon 4, 5 pm? (after all the yard sales are over- you can see it will be a glamorous affair!)
You can show/sell your work. The Delaplaine Art Center in Frederick has offered to show the work afterward in a lobby space for a few weeks to make it all more worthwhile, providing we get some confirmed participation.
My studio is in Woodsboro, and is usually open Th F Sa. I will make it available as a bathroom stop, place to make a cup of tea, to get out of bad weather, or frame something up. Come up and paint or take photos to paint from; and stop in!
