I love the idea of a tiny space to work in where scale is shifted to feel huge. I love spontaneous lines, ink flowing, and forms that let the imagination wander; I love nature and poetry.
This tiny sketchbook is a way to reach across the ocean. I grew up in Switzerland, in the Valais region of the Alps, and part of my tiny sketchbook is a memory of my childhood warmth. The other part is a sharing today's times. We live in a time when our natural world need our help and this is a little traveling note penned in inks and collage, a note to you and me.
The stamps in the tiny sketchbook are from letters of old and of new, some of them are from the 1970's I think, and others from today: reaching back and forward all at once. They were given to me by my brother and my mother (heart).
The poems are both in English and in French. I love writing in both languages and I love how to me the words come out differently at times depending on which language I am speaking.
