This sketchbook is partly satirical and partly autobiographical and mainly deals with the stereotypes placed upon women and men. Our gender has the power to unify or divide us, objectify us or liberate us. It is my hope that someone will look at this crazy mash-up of papers that I lovingly saved (and possibly hoarded) and will identify with some of the themes within the pages. Not only was this process therapeutic for artistic reasons, it was also an exercise in letting go. I tend to have an unhealthy emotional connection with ephemera and memorabilia. Putting these beautiful saved bits of art, design, photography, ect. into this book and sending it off was hard, but feels right because now others can enjoy them as much as I have.
