Hi, my name is Edward Krawczak. I was born and live in southern Michigan. I have associate degrees in design and marketing, and have worked in printing since 2006. I've been drawing since before I can remember.
It sounds kind of cheesy and a pretty textbook thing to say, but I think art is really about communicating our human feelings and ideas. As human beings we work our whole lives to communicate with one another, to learn and share things with each other. My art is no great monument to human civilization - nor does it have to be - but at least once in a while I pour my thoughts and feelings into it, subconsciously at least trying to share them with the rest of the world. That said, I'm a firm believer in art being fun as well. There are some beautiful, serious works of art that were painstakingly crafted, and they are to be cherished and admired. But most of us will never have our work in the Louvre or the Met (if that's your goal, more power to you and keep at it). We do our art for ourselves, our friends, family and community. You can work at it seriously, but enjoy yourself. I work very quickly, and a lot of the time that shows in my drawings, but I love the hell out of it while I'm working. Whatever art form, or shall I say even communication form, you choose to convey yourself make sure you enjoy it as much as you can. Have fun with it, because our lives are short and move so quickly. Thank you for taking the time to look at my sketchbook, I hope you feel inspired and motivated to create things yourself and share them with the world.
