This sketchbook does not follow any of the suggested themes, but I couldn't figure out how to delete the suggested theme and enter one of my own. It is a collection of interesting animals, with various adornments, sometimes fanciful. Aye-aye with its bushy tail; vampire bat dripping blood; grizzly bear with bear claws; bison with Uncle Sam hat; crocodile with body armor; elephant with cauliflower ear; gorilla as a "deck ape"; octopus as net bag; pangolin with tic-tac-toe; near-sighted rhinoceros; neurotic tarantula on web matrix; shoebill with snare drumroll (check out the YouTube for the sound effect); sea turtle snorkeling; warthog with jewel-encrusted tusks; penguin in white tie. I like animals, and this project challenged me to present a small bestiary with imaginary characteristics, not desirable or otherwise, just different. It also gave me a chance to try different shapes and textures, using one pen for all lines, a Micron 03. Colors were added with Faber-Castell PITT artist pens.
