I've been exploring henna designs a lot over the last year or so. This started when my area in Texas was hit by Hurricane Harvey and we were asked to evacuate. When we finally came back, we had a wrecked town, no electricity, no drinkable water, and a fridge full of rotten food. It was hot, and I drew henna designs by flashlight at night because there wasn't anything else to do besides be miserable. I love jellyfish and nature in general. So my henna exploration began to spill into my jellyfish drawings. And that's pretty much what you see in this sketchbook. A continuation of what I started during Hurricane Harvey to take my mind off things. It was a therapeutic experience and things are much better now. But I still love the idea of putting henna and nature together.
