I believe that we all carry words, ideas and concepts in our hearts. This sketchbook is about the connection points in my life, the words I carry in my heart, the various mediums that I work in and the places I feel at home.
I tried to keep a certain integrity and only use things that I had created but then the advertisement from Newfoundland said what I wanted to say better than any of my images.
The postage stamps are from letters received. It may seem old-fashioned to write a letter but it is an art form in itself and one I hope doesn't die.
The vintage black and white photograph is my Grandmother as a young woman.
The David Whyte poem reflects that I started this year listening to him for three magical days in January.
The ceramic piece was hand built and raku fired by me.
So I would ask you, what words do you carry in your heart? How do those words express themselves in your life? in your art?
