I am an artist and poet living in San Francisco’s North Beach. I’ve been writing
poetry and making OAK (one-of-a-kind) “dolls” for more than 40 years.
Presence, practice and process are the three essential elements that I bring to my
work every day. For me, writing poetry is the practice of paying attention, of
noticing connections in the world around me and exploring what it means to be
human, to be alive, to have a heart. The doll making is an obsession with the
creative process and how we continually remake and reimagine ourselves when
we shape something new with raw materials by hand.
