I had gotten out of the habit of keeping a sketchbook years ago when my attention turned quite digital. Getting started again was somewhat daunting. By chance, a small notebook found its way to the milk crate on the back of my bicycle. I seized this connection, integrated the pages into my sketchbook, and engaged in a conversation.
My work tends to run in series, and I favor repeated engagements with a single image. This affords me an opportunity to dig deep, work simple, and allow complexity to emerge in the collective whole.
I prefer to work on paper. Art taunts time with its ephemeral nature, yet art aspires to the infinite.
