As a signmaker and typographer, my fascination involves language. More to the point... taking language apart. Letters & numbers couple in my work to form little structures... Glyphs. Obcilloglyphs I call them. Obcillo being Latin for "break" or "smash". Serif is a love affair as well. I consider Serif to be the panache that adorns each Glyph. Archiving ancient (read: 1940s and 50s) type and script and clip art and memos and so on also pepper the space in which the Glyphs float. Yay.
