I am an expressive artist living in a very small rural community where the majority of my time is put towards my professional project management and conflict resolution role as a public servant in the provincial government. Committing to this project helped me to dedicate time for my creative work and provided me with a sense of connection to a global community of creative people. In my sketchbook I explored human connection, inspiration, inclusion, isolation, empathy, and self-awareness. I limited the mediums used so that I could take my sketchbook with me when I travelled and I let the questions that emerged while drawing or colouring a page inform the themes in subsequent pages. I believe that expressing myself through art helps me to be the best person I can be in all aspects of my life and that art heals and inspires.
