Bing Crosby. Paul Newman. Maya Angleou. Ernest Hemingway. The Golden Girls cast. Charles Dickens. John Steinbeck. These are some of the people I wish I knew. While there are many more, these are the ones that made the short list.
This idea of honoring the people I highly regard started off simply: how would we spend the day together. It morphed and transformed into its present state of being a humorous commentary on creative ideation within the scope of the entertainment industry. Reboots and remakes seem to dominate the spectrum of cinematic offerings leaving behind ones based on original material. In the following pages, I imagined how each person and myself would remake one of their creative works. These reimaginings are purposefully awkward and misinformed, reworked into a very distant resemblance of the original material. Within each of these reboots, we are joined by members of the pop culture landscape in order to depict our misguided reinterpretations.
