This is my fifth year of the Sketchbook Project. I'm excited to be doing my current Inner Landscape series, collage and mixed media and drawing. I’m always inspired by the city and buildings. I grew up in the concrete jungle and lived most of my life here, with 2 years in Tokyo, 4 years in Cambridge, MA, and 2 in Paris, all also cities. I like to mix paint pens and tape, masking tape, wash I tape and duct tape. There is always a presence of the Twin Towers, World Trade Center and 9/11, as I’ve lived a few blocks north of them since the end of 1997. Tribeca has changed a lot since I moved here from Paris in 1993. I’m one of the few artists still living and working down here. These images reflect the layers of the city and the losses of special neighborhood landmarks and special places like the Twin Towers, Pearl Paint, and many local businesses...
