The images I decided to create for my sketchbook were of things I felt best reflected my life at this stage. I took inspiration from objects that have sentimental value, my pets and the landscapes of the city I live in, Sydney, particularly Western Sydney. The locations I chose to recreate are places I have found to be therapeutic, and so in creating images of these places, the process was therapeutic itself. I was also interested in exploring self-portraiture as it is something I haven't really attempted before and hoped I could convey some kind of self-exploration. I created the sketchbook while going through a break-up and at a point where my mental health was at a low point, so the process helped exercise mindfulness and gratitude for the many special things in my life.
