The process of making collages is one that has hounded me for many years. Forever seeking out new materials to work with leads to changes in style and subject. I treat the process much as I would painting: as I add shape and color, images and meanings emerge. It is a partner to and complements my other art-marking, primarily painting. Using the shape I love the most as vehicle for expression, I have stripped each page down to one piece of paper collaged to a bed of rolled ink. Each square, however, contains references to other works, namely collage and photography.
