My passion in life is animals. I paint pet portraits rountinly which I absolutely love, I believe you need to be passionate about what your painting. However, the pets I paint are loved, cherished, they are part of a family part of a life routine. Having recently spent some time travelling through India I came up with the concept of 'dogs of India'. We have all been on holidays and seen stray dogs, malnourished animals and I can guarantee it breaks any animal lovers heart. Having experienced this a great deal throughout India it became apparent that these dogs have made a culture and a community for themselves. I did cry - a lot… however, knowing I cannot not a great deal to change their situation yet I can highlight it. These dogs expressed themselves in ways you not believe, from bounding up and down the beaches, to laying with tourists. And of course being fed by them too. Such beautiful characters and personalities emerged and I really feel the urge to showcase this.
