I have been researching images for sketchbooks on woolsheds and country life in Australia. I have also been meditating by sketching, the hand sewn and crocheted articles that my family members have made in the past. A friend, Bernice told me how she completed a large embroidered tablecloth one year between delivering by car the morning tea to the shearers and workers and picking up the empty crockery. It made me think of visualising the hand work of men - the shearing and also the building, and that of the women of the country - cooking, making clothes and decorative stitching.
