My artwork takes an analytic view of social, cultural, and emotional subjects involved in my life. Often referencing art history, anatomy and physiology texts, and scientific texts, my work investigates the varying relationships between popular culture and fine art, ancient and modern. Engaging my primal feelings and moments of transcendentalism as well, my art reproduces familiar visual signs, coordinating them into new conceptually layered prints and motifs. While I use an assortment of materials and processes in each print my style is consistent. Although there may not always be material similarities between the different series, they are linked by recurring formal concerns and through the subject matter. In this series, I touch upon the subject of health by referencing medical drawings and body parts. My art, in the current series, is my catharsis, i.e., my way of healing, and my hope is that my audience finds some layer of meaning, their own meaning, and can apply it to their own life.
