My drawings are inspired by the visual language of maps and the fractal similarity that cities share with biological processes such as the patterns of cells and neurons.
My sketchbook practice is a critical part of my work; I use a variety of sketchbooks daily to record and explore new markmaking and design ideas.
I used this sketchbook as a companion to my existing sketchbook practice and a micro record of the evolution of my markmaking over the beginning of the year. It includes influences from my concurrent experiments in new media including animation, digital art and graphical programming.
