The Getty Art Museum had a challenge to write a Haiku that embodied the emotion a painting made you feel. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing the Haiku. Later I decided to give a speech for Toastmasters that was a series of Haikus (speech emphasis was on word choice, metaphors, etc.). When I saw some touring sketchbooks, I decided to stretch myself with the reverse challenge of making the art to go with the Haikus, although I have no real experience with painting.
