With the theme "Parts of the Whole", I decided to start my sketchbook by gluing in small pieces of art on every two page spread. Many were pieces of prints or very small prints. A few came from paintings that I hadn't liked, a few of them were scraps that I had used in some experimental dying techniques. I used whatever scrap or scraps were on the page as my starting point. Some pages came easily to me and some took a lot more consideration. I have been enamored with Copic markers which have a tendency to bleed through the pages, so that became an additional challenge: incorporating the bleed through on the backing pages. Because of this, every page really does inform the other pages. I am very satisfied with the final results, I think this is my best sketchbook so far.
