This book documents things seen during a week of my life when I wandered a little further a field. Picking a week when I had planned a trip away to Costa Del Sol. I wanted to use the book to look at a different culture and a different way of living.
I have used a quote from the poet Rosalia de Castro (1837- 1885) as a starting point for the book and have also referenced this on the last page. I felt it was then apt to name the book after one of her poems. 'Hora tras hora, día tras día.' Hour After Hour, Day After Day.
As well as this I have tried to weave into the drawings interests that feature in my practice as an artist. Isometric viewing, the placement of objects linked to domestic living in unusual places and the mix of man made and natural elements.
Initially I became involved in this project as something to be part of, it looked interesting, fun. I have taken from it a newly found appreciation of the importance of drawing daily and how it can heighten the way you look and feed back into your practice.
